Bartco UK have continued to invest in the skillset and welfare of their staff by putting technical assistant supervisor Tim Hill through ISOH training for Managing Safely, to back up the company’s recent ISO 45001 certification.
Tim was previously a delivery operative and has been promoted within, coming off the delivery team due to his great mechanical and electrical skills.
Tim has been with Bartco for 4 years and is now the head of LED panel repairs at HQ in Matlock, Derbyshire.
In house repairs on average save Bartco UK 30 days per repair, so the benefit to their clients, the public and road users are clear for all to see. Also, this is great for our environmental ISO 14001 as it cuts down on our carbon footprint.
The repair process is very simply:
- Board returned from customer to head office or from site
- Tim identifies the issue immediately and repairs the board, replacing either a chip or an LED bulb
- Board put back into stock or returned to the customer
Following the completion of his training, Tim now heads workshop safety and helps oversee the Bartco UK workshop team.
Anne Ashman, Bartco UK General Manager told us:
“We’re always looking to invest in our people to keep them challenged, motivated and progressing.
“Our company ethos is ‘Work safe, work well’ and it’s important that all of our team adopt that mantra. We can help that process by investing in our team like we have with Tim’s training.
“Tim has been nothing short of excellent in his time with us and we’re really pleased to assist him in developing himself further. It’s good for Tim, good for Bartco and good for the rest of our team to have officially trained staff looking after them.”
“I’m really pleased to complete the training and add another string to my bow. I’m grateful to Bartco for the opportunity and support, and I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned to help the team here.
“We all know how important safer working is and if I can help to implement a safer environment for our ladies and gents then that’s a contribution that I’m proud to make.
“Work safe, work well is vital here and I’ll be doing my bit to uphold that ethos.”
